Mekay was established in Istanbul in 1965 and has only ever made small-diameter lathes. Its manual turret lathes were built for 40 years and were so fast that customers called them “tayyare” (aeroplane). Since 2005 Mekay has built CNC precision lathes for small-diameter serial parts, with FANUC controls and a 2-year full warranty as standard.
